Ashtanga
Practice Rigorous, Structured Yoga with Humble Warrior

What Is Ashtanga?

Ashtanga is an energetic, structured form of yoga that requires you to move through a specific series of poses. This series of poses is always the same, no matter where you go.

A High Intensity Workout

The primary series of Ashtanga Yoga is a challenge, even for long-time practitioners.

However, this is by design. Ashtanga Yoga focuses on a dedicated series of specific poses that will test your endurance, strength, and flexibility. You’ll be pushed hard and often struggle during your first session. But you’ll also find ways to meditate, focus, and find comfort even during the difficult moments and possible failures. Ashtanga is just as much about the spiritual growth as it is the physical.

How is Ashtanga Yoga Different?

Vinyasa Yoga can utilize similar movements but allows for freedom of change for instructors. The Ashtanga series remains the same no matter where you practice. It will begin with a Sun Salutation set, then expand as the activity goes on. The idea is to push and warm the body, opening up a greater range of movement and physical demand. You’ll commit to dedicated, deep breaths as you weather the storm of this difficult series of movements.

Work Out

Yoga is an excellent source of exercise, since it keeps your muscles active while also promoting the flexibility needed to expand your range of motion.

Find Peace

At Humble Warrior, we believe in yoga's ability to help you find inner peace. This happens because you use excess energy while focusing your mind.

Ashtanga Yoga is You Versus Yourself

Potential yogis are often discouraged as they see the capabilities of advanced practitioners.

Ashtanga Yoga is all about the journey of personal growth, not comparing your abilities to those around you. Every step further in the Ashtanga series is a success.

Why Ashtanga?

As you try, fail, and grow, you’ll learn to make peace with the process of growth and get comfortable with the cycle of failing then succeeding. Such is the cycle of life.

If you’re looking for an activity that can challenge you physically and spiritually, push yourself by trying Ashtanga Yoga.
